Absentee Voting for Will County Voters Only To vote by absentee ballot in Will County, Illinois, a person must be a registered voter and unable to vote in person at the polls on election day for one of the following reasons:
Absentee voting in Illinois is a two-step process. You must first complete an application for an absentee ballot and return it to the Will County Clerk's Office; upon receipt of the application, the County Clerk's office will send you an absentee ballot to be completed and returned. Please be sure to request an absentee ballot early enough to allow for this two-step mail process. REMEMBER: this is only a request for an application this is not the application for an absentee ballot. If you have any questions regarding the above qualifications, please contact the election authority's office at 815-740-4632. If you registered to vote on the Federal form by mail, you may not vote absentee by mail the first time you vote. You must vote in person the first time. If you are incapacitated and cannot go into the polls, you may request curbside voting on election day or you may vote absentee by mail. For further information, call the Will County Clerk's office at 815-740-4615.
The only election which requires
a voter to declare their party affiliation is a Primary election, when political
parties nominate candidates for the General election. In-person absentee voting is also available in township, city and village offices throughout the county. You must live within the city, village or township in order to vote there. The following offices will conduct absentee voting:
Armed Forces and Overseas Absentee Voting Military or overseas voters may request an absentee ballot by sending in a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) form. If you are in the military, you should ask your commanding officer for the form (red and white form). If you are overseas, request the FPCA form from the U.S. embassy or Consulate. If you are unable to obtain the card stock FPCA form, you may use the on-line version of the FPCA (OFPCA) as an alternative by visiting http://www.fvap.gov. |
